[R] Re: R 0.90.0 for Windows rwinst fails (for me) and workaround
hi- I downloaded r 0.90.0 for windows and ran rwinst.exe and the base package would not install for me. I had to unzip rw0900b1.zip and r20900b2.zip manually and then do the rest of install with rwinst. Is this due to b being replaced by b1 and b2? Is this due to b being replaced> by b1 and b2?Did you also download the matching rwinst.exe? I did and that it ran perfectly for me, and I am sure Guido tested it before release. You cannot mix and match here: there are several new features in the installer too. We split the b.zip to keep things under one floppy in size. (Yes, I know the docs zip is bigger than one floppy, but the zipped Reference manual alone is.) -- Brian D.
