Dear all, can you tell me why in the following boxplot (gs.spe, names.x= spec.abbr, ylab= "", xlab= "species", yaxt= "n", xaxt= "n", cex.axis= 2) yaxt, xaxt and cex.axis has no effect? Even if I apply the patches (i.e. I defined a function newbxp with the changes and a function newbox that calls newbxp instead of bxp) that Martin wrote for boxplot a couple of weaks ago (because of a wrong warning if one sets ylim) these parameters have no effect (and, actually, the bounding box and xlab are not drawn anymore).
