Kjetil Halvorsen mentioned a book call "S-Poetry in R". I checked with amazon.com and Barnes and Noble but they don't have it listed. Can somebody please give me the complete reference and where it can be obtained. Suggestion: Might it be possible to put a list of the most important and new literature about R, S, and S+ which has a direct bearing on R in the Documentation section of CRAN along with where they can be obtained? This would be of great help to isolated neophytes beginning to use R. S-poetry is not a book, it is an on-line manuscript of a declined book proposal (I am told by a publisher), available at http://www.seanet.com/~pburns/Spoetry http://www.i-way.co.uk/~pat/Spoetry in PDF last time I looked. It is about S-PLUS, written by a former MathSoft employee.> Suggestion: Might it be possible to put a list of the most important and > new literature about R, S, and S+ which has a direct bearing on R in the > Documentation section of CRAN along with where they can be obtained? (1997) Modern Applied Statistics with S-PLUS. Second Edition. Springer. and then read both of R's FAQ The `R' complements to V&R2, available from a mirror near you via http://www.stats.ox.ac.uk/pub/MASS/sites.html. (A new version updated for 0.63 will be available by Monday, together with a new release of R versions of the libraries and scripts.) to understand some of the differences. -- Brian D.
