vector of NA indices
I have a vector Pes with 600 elements some of which are NA's. How can I form a vector of the indices of the NA's. for(i in 1:600) if(is.na(Pes[i])) print(i) prints the indices of the NA's but I can't figure out how to put the results in a vector. Thank you very much. Peter B. -- Peter B. Mandeville mandevip at deimos.tc.uaslp.mx Jefe del Depto. de

Happy New Year to all, I am using RW0631 and WIN98. 1. The command DATA only works for the base library. 2. S-Poetry in R
Kjetil Halvorsen mentioned a book call "S-Poetry in R". I checked with amazon.com and Barnes and Noble but they don't have it listed. Can somebody please give me the complete reference and where it can be obtained. Suggestion: Might it be possible to put a list of the most important and new literature about R, S, and S+ which has a direct bearing on R in the Documentation section

SAMPLS R implementation : pbm with algorithm application
Hello R people, i'm trying to implement the Partial Least Squares algorithm called SAMPLS from "J.Comp-Aided Molecular Design", 7 (1993), 587-619. It's faster than the classical PLS algorithm for fat matrix (m>>n). Here's the algorithm from the article of Bush B. L. and Nachbar R.B.: X is the matrix of explanatories proprieties (m*n) , y the matrix of responses, h

fidelity of generated raster images (R and perl)
Hi: Goal: use R to turn a matrix of 1's and 0's into a corresponding image (e.g. png) of black and white pixels. Why R: Yes, I can do this more efficiently and precisely with a perl module like Image::PBM. Been there, done that many times, etc. (Just humor me. I'm trying to do this with R for a number of reasons.) Problem: Difficult to get a perfect rasterization. There can be appended or removed pixel columns or pixel rows depending on...

Can't install "e1071"
I observed the same behavior as Edward this morning with R-1.2.2 on Red Hat Linux 7.0. There appears to be a problem with the library in netpbm-9.5-5, even after hunting down the missing shhopt.h that pbmplus.h is looking for. I worked around the problem by compiling e1071 without pbm support (moved pbm.c to pbm.c.bak). Matt Matthew R. Nelson, Ph.D. Director, Information Systems Esperion Therapeutics, Inc.
