R devel - Mar 2003 - make check fails with 1.7.0beta

Dear R-devel:

This might have been discussed, but I've deleted all the messages,
unfortunately.

I downloaded the 1.7.0beta 03/26/2003.  The compile was fine, but make check
failed while checking "base".  base-Ex.Rout.fail has the following:
> ## find the 10 largest objects in base
> z <- sapply(ls("package:base"), function(x)
object.size(get(x)))
Error in get(x) : F used instead of FALSE
Execution halted

This is on Mandrake 9.0 running on PIII Xeon.  Same thing happened with GCC
and the Intel compilers.

Can anyone help?

There was a late change to massage-Examples.pl that broke this for
everyone (and was probably not spotted as the *-Ex.R files were not 
remade automatically).  Hopefully we will have a working version for the 
next beta: I am just doing a build from scratch to test this out.

Yes, it's been discussed, and fixed. It's to do with attempts to give a
better error message when T/F are used instead of TRUE/FALSE. Thanks for
the report.
