The packages feature of Rgui is great! However it looks the directory structure was changed for http://cran.r-project.org/bin/windows/contrib/, such that some the packages are now under /rw1030 (e.g., VR) and are not found by install.packages(). Thus the error message: trying URL `http://cran.r-project.org/bin/windows/contrib/VR.zip' Error in download.file(url, destfile, method, mode = "wb") : cannot open: HTTP status was `404' Tom ___________________________________________________________ Tom Stockton, PhD voice: (505) 662-0707 ext 17 Neptune and Company cell: (505) 660-8591 1505 15th St. Suite B fax: (505) 662-0500 Los Alamos, NM 87544-3063 stockton@neptuneandco.com `·.,, ><(((º> www.neptuneandco.com `·.,, ><(((º> -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- r-devel mailing list -- Read http://www.ci.tuwien.ac.at/~hornik/R/R-FAQ.html Send "info", "help", or "[un]subscribe" (in the "body", not the subject !) That's a very temporary change to avoid people updating on rw1023 to versions that needed rw1030, and it will change on CRAN tomorrow. However, VR is already one of the recommended packages which come with rw1030, so you don't need to install it from CRAN. -- Brian D. There's just no VR.zip file in it. VR is *inside* rw1030 so why would you want to download it? If by any chance you are still using 1.2.3, packages that have become obsolete(-escent) now sit in http://cran.r-project.org/bin/windows/contrib/rw1023 -- O__ ---- Peter Dalgaard Blegdamsvej 3 c/ /'_ --- Dept. of Biostatistics 2200 Cph.
