Dear tincerers- Please help, I need to get this working *today* (ack!). I've installed tinc 1.0p3 on two machines fully updated rh7, "stockton" and "lodi", where "lodi" is trying to "ConnectTo" "stockton". When I start the tinc daemens on each side, this is what i get in my logs: Stockton: Feb 23 19:07:57 srouter tinc.pacheart[2794]: tincd 1.0pre3 (Feb 23 2001 03:44:24) starting, debug level 4 Feb 23 19:07:57 srouter tinc.pacheart[2794]: Ready: listening on port 655 Feb 23 19:07:57 srouter tinc: startup of network pacheart succeeded Feb 23 19:08:14 srouter tinc.pacheart[2794]: Connection from 209.xxx.xxx.112 port 1030 Feb 23 19:08:14 srouter tinc.pacheart[2794]: Got bad ID from 209.xxx.xxx.112 Feb 23 19:08:14 srouter tinc.pacheart[2794]: Error while processing ID from unknown (209.xxx.xxx.112) Feb 23 19:08:14 srouter tinc.pacheart[2794]: Closing connection with unknown (209.xxx.xxx.112) Lodi: Feb 23 19:07:26 lrouter tinc.pacheart[3818]: tincd 1.0pre3 (Feb 23 2001 14:09:16) starting, debug level 4 Feb 23 19:07:26 lrouter tinc.pacheart[3818]: Ready: listening on port 655 Feb 23 19:07:26 lrouter tinc: startup of network pacheart succeeded Feb 23 19:07:26 lrouter tinc.pacheart[3818]: Trying to connect to 209.xxx.xxx.235 Feb 23 19:07:26 lrouter tinc.pacheart[3818]: Connected to 209.xxx.xxx.235 port 655 Feb 23 19:07:26 lrouter tinc.pacheart[3818]: Metadata socket read error for stockton (209.xxx.xxx.235): Function not implemented Feb 23 19:07:26 lrouter tinc.pacheart[3818]: Closing connection with stockton (209.xxx.xxx.235) I'm presuming this is bad ;-). Pings etc., don't go across the network/VPN, so there is definitely no tinc connection between the two servers. Ideas?!? I will be logged into aim as "dumb0x" (that's a zero) if any kind soul out there is willing to take me on one-on-on, and I'll watch the lists. To help you I really need to see your tinc config files, and preferably a cut&paste of the output of ipchains or iptables, ifconfig, route and uname -a. ------------------------------------------- Met vriendelijke groet / with kind regards, Guus Sliepen <guus@sliepen.warande.net> ------------------------------------------- See also: http://tinc.nl.linux.org/ http://www.kernelbench.org/ ------------------------------------------- -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed...
