[Pkg-xen-devel] Bug#702369: can't install wheezy from template
Package: xcp-xe Version: 1.3.2-14 Severity: important My dom0 is 64 bit wheezy with the xen-xapi environment I try the following: xe vm-install \ template=Debian\ Wheezy\ 7.0\ \(64-bit\) new-name-label=wheezytest1 xe vm-param-set uuid=$MY_UUID \ other-config:install-repository=http://ftp.ch.debian.org/debian/ xe vif-create network-uuid=$MY_NET_UUID \ vm-uuid=$MY_UUID device=0 xe vm-start uuid=$MY_UUID I have the following problems: a) it insists on doing an express install (I want expert mode), there is no documentation about how to force it to expert mode b) when it gets to the choose a mirror stage, it is impossible to proceed, it rejects every mirror I try, I'm guessing that it is not correctly looking for wheezy packages in the mirrors Also, the ALT key doesn't work with the vnc viewer, so I can't easily switch virtual consoles, and the VNC viewer is extremely slow, it would be much better to use a `xm console' style text interface for the installer.

It works pretty well for the Debian installer. I never used VNC for installing a Debian, as it's too slow, as you said. Thomas
