Nut upsuser - Dec 2014 - Changing self test date

Hello,

does any one know how to change the date of the self tests on APC UPSes ?
I'd
like to be able to choose the day and the hour so that it happens at office
hours, in case of any problem...

I've tried to do this by launching a test at a convenient time, but the self
tests still occurs at the previous date and hour :-(

The apctest program from apcupsd does not offer much more insight:

This forum post from 2013 suggests that an easy way is to change the UPS setting
to "test at power on", then use a script (with NUT, you would run
something like "upscmd ups at server battery.start.quick") to run it
at your preferred time:

Changing the self test interval will depend on your specific UPS model.

Thanks for your answer, Charles. This confirms what I thought : no other way
than turning off and on the UPSes to change date and hour of self tests. So,
effectively, the best way to have full control is to schedule tests via
scripts.
