Hello everyone. I have a "Forza Power Technologies" UPS, model sl-501. the software i've been used to manage it is Winpower v.2.2.0.1. It works on windows but not linux. There is a version for this app for linux, but once installed, it doesn't detect the ups (the connection is via usb). My question is if there is a driver useful for this hardware. I've bee reading that maybe testing those from "genericups" could work, but i don't know very well how to configure the different files yet. Before getting stuck trying to find a functional configuration, i really would appreciate any help or orientation on this. Thanks, Alex. _________________________________________________________________ News, entertainment and everything you care about at Live.com. If it is USB only, you may try "megatec_usb" to see if it works. -- Carlos Rodrigues

The Winpower software speaks the megatec protocol, so "megatec_usb" is your best shot. If it doesn't work, maybe its maintainers can help modifying it in order to work. -- Carlos Rodrigues

Please check your device availability with 'lsusb' and make sure you have an up-to-date version of NUT. If this does not help, try running the driver with at least 'vendorid' and 'subdriver' options specified." the only device connected via usb that i have now is the ups, i think that i'm pointing to the right port. what should i try now?, if the Winpower software use the megatec protocol maybe there is way to solve this.. .Alexander Fradiani _________________________________________________________________ Connect to the next generation of MSN Messenger? http://imagine-msn.com/messenger/launch80/default.aspx?locale=en-us&source=wlmailtagline
