Lustre discuss - Jan 2013 - Lustre Client - Server Compatibility

I am in the process of doing an upgrade of our 1.8.6 Lustre servers to 2.1.3. 
We have
quite a few clients that all run versions of the lustre client close to 1.8.6.

Is there a compatibility matrix somewhere that will show what clients will work
with what
servers?  We don''t want to do the upgrade all at once so would like to
know what order to
make the changes.

Hmm, good question.  1.8.6-wc1 clients should interoperate with 2.1
servers, with only a few minor exceptions that were fixed in later
releases.  2.x clients do NOT work with 1.8 servers, so you need to
upgrade the servers first.

There are a few interoperability issues with 1.8.6 that are fixed in 1.8.7.

Ah.   Thanks.  That makes a bit of a difference to our upgrade order.
