video calls - Windows / Linux interoperability ?
I will install Asterisk on my home server, I want to be able to route video calls, but I need the Windows and Linux clients to be interoperable. On Linux, it looks like Ekiga is a good candidate. But how about Windows? Anyone using Kapanga in an Asterisk network that includes Ekiga? Are these two interoperable? I'm not necessarily looking for open source software, free for personal use is

[LLVMdev] setjmp/longjmp interoperable between llvm and gcc?
Hi, I would like to build an x86 executable consisting of a number of subsystems (mostly legacy C code). One subsystem will be compiled to native code using llvm. It calls, and is called by, the other subsystems, many of which have to be compiled using gcc because they use small amounts of inline assembly. All of the subsystems catch and throw errors to one another using setjmp/longjmp. When

Plea for help: Windows/Linux interoperability diffculties
Everyone, I'm at the last straw. For at least 5 to 6 months I have tried to get Samba 2.0.6 and Samba 2.0.7 to interoperate with Windows 98, with only partial success. Whenever a Windows machine does an SMB query of the master browser on my network, it takes an abysmally long time to respond. Whenever a Windows machine attempts to print, it becomes unstable and starts crashing. I'm

H323 - SIP Interoperability
Hi there, I would like to communicate H323 IP phones with SIP phones. My H323 phones are registered to a gnugk GK, and the SIP phones are registered to a asterisk SIP proxy. I could not create a dialplan that works. Inside my extensions.conf file I created the following two entrances: exten => 4,1,Dial(SIP/4) exten => 5,1,Dial(SIP/5) This allows SIP phones call each other.

'ssh -f' option, interoperability with ssh v2.3.0
i'm trying to use the ssh command's -f option with OpenSSH v2.1.1p4 on linux (RedHat v6.2). this option doesn't seem to be working properly on my system - the specified is run succesfully but it isn't put to the background. is this a known problem? also, OpenSSH doesn't seem to interoperate with SSH Communications Security's ssh v2.3.0 (apparently because of different

Info sip/h.323 interoperability
...sterisk & H.323 Shaun Ewing asterisk-users@lists.digium.com Mon, 26 May 2003 21:56:42 +1000 """ I've red in that mail you """ have over a hundred 7960s using Asterisk and chan_h323 """, so my question is: Asterisk supports this interoperability ? I have done some test with Vocal to make calls from IP cisco Phone via sip/h323 translator to connect with Netmeeting or other h.323 end points... If this interoparability is supported which module I needs ? Thanks for attention, Marco

Can I interoperate with public PSTN gateways ?
Apologies if this is an FAQ, I wasn't able to find an answer googling: Will any of the public PSTN/VoIP gateway services (Vonage, Packet8 etc) interoperate with * ? I'd like to deploy a box which provides PBX service for analog handsets, and handles inbound/outbound calls via both analog PSTN lines, and, say Packet8 VoIP service. I understand that I can do this by connecting the analog

G729a and G729 interoperability
Hello! I am wondering how the differences between G729, G729a, and G729b effect call bridging and server interoperability. For example, can one server use the G729 code with another server that uses the G729A codec? Also, which version is Asterisk set up to use? Thanks! Elliot

Request for Comments: Interoperability Paper
To save posting a large text document to the list, here's the paper in html on a public web site: http://www.geocities.com/orville_torpid/papers/interoperability.html The paper is nominally about PC NetLink (I work of Sun), but it's really about the interoperability of most of the current SMB programs. Comments, suggestions and brickbats happily accepted! --dave

SIPit 26 in Sweden - organized by Edvina
Friends, SIPit is the main interoperability event for all things SIP. It's organized by the SIP Forum and creates good feedback to the IETF. Asterisk has been participating in SIPit during many years and in many variants - videocaps, Marc Blanchet's IPv6 branch and the standard Digium releases. All these tests has lead to a large...

PAM, keyboard interactive, pam-1@ssh.com, interoperability
...rd interactive auth method). + I can configure ssh.com-3.0.1 for PAM, and it also works fine (negotiating ssh2 pam-1 at ssh.com auth method). Unfortunately, the openssh client doesn't support pam-1 at ssh.com, and the ssh.com client doesn't support keyboard interactive. So I have a basic interoperability problem, and I have to choose which vendor's universe to live in. I don't want to! *Sigh* Questions: * Does anyone have plans to incorporate pam-1 at ssh.com into openssh, or know of plans to incorporate keyboard-interactive into ssh.com's product? * Are the openssh code mainta...

MS Exchange - Samba interoperability
Hello, I'm interested in use cases and experiences related with Samba and MS Exchange interoperability. In particular, my situation is as follows: Samba3 domain (domain A) and Windows NT4 (domain B) with mutual trust relationship (A trust B and B trust A). MS Exchange Server is running in a server of domain B and I want to create mailboxes in the Exchange Server for users in domain A. This doesn...

Samba <-> Vista RTM interoperability issue
Hi List! We've run into interesting problem with Samba and Vista. In short - there's a Samba server sharing NFS connection. What is shared is the NFS link mounted somewhere in root (say /nfspath) and [homes] which is in fact /nfspath/some/dir. And the problem is that Vista client can write a file onto the share using \\sambaserver\homes\dir notation, but cannot do it using
