hi todd, you already began work on this: i rethought the test mode, also looked through logtail code. what about a plain `logcheck -T` without passing _any_ LOG that would help the code and you whould just have to _not_ *) update the offset file everything else could be left the same. another argument seems to be that the current wishlist interfers with `logcheck -l test_logcheck.logfiles`? i would also prefer not to combine -t per default with -T? a third question would be to change -t <-> -T? test mode versus TMPDIR?? ;) what do you thing about it? salut maks *) basicaly would need only one unless($TEST_MODE) the last one. -------------- next part -------------- A non-text attachment was scrubbed... It would be nice to eventually be able to spec a file.> another argument seems to be that the current wishlist interfers > with `logcheck -l test_logcheck.logfiles`?Hmmm. Well -l chooses a config file, not a log file so I dont think we would really be conflicting.> i would also prefer not to combine -t per default with -T? > > a third question would be to change -t <-> -T? > test mode versus TMPDIR?? ;)I would rather see -t used for test mode. I think anyone that would care about the current -t function would be a logcheck developer anyway so it seems safe to change. Cheers, -- [ Todd J. Troxell ,''`.
