llvm dev - Dec 2017 - [6.0.0 Release] One week to the branch

This is a quick reminder that the upcoming release branch is scheduled
for one week from today: Wednesday 3 January 2018.

Please try to avoid disruptive changes right before the branch.

As discussed in [1], the branch is happening a little earlier this
year. The first two weeks of the release process will be a "slow
start" period: those who want can start testing and nominating patches
for merging, but there will be no release candidates, and I will still
be on vacation myself.

The full release schedule is available under Upcoming Releases at
https://llvm.org/

As the branch is created, the trunk version will become 7.0.0.
