Hi: Mount points are created when a source connects to it. So in your case, you'd configure shout to use the mount point that you want and icecast will do the rest. Note that shout is no longer supported and icecast 1.3.7 is ancient. Hello: I have a question about Top. When I run top on any of the LPBN servers that icecast is running on CPU state is always at 100% utilization and icecast is always taking up all the rescources. I don't believe this is true because I can add additional services and even use the server as a workstation. Does anyone know if icecast takes over all available resources of the computer that it is installed on? hello...everybody... i have a question about mount point ... if i want to separate the streaming by category, let say i want to play an english category song. Then what should i do is just go to http://putera-trg.kustem/english and the song plays. if i want to play rock category songs, then just go to http://putera-trg.kustem/rock and the songs play. This is about a mount point but i still not understand how to create the mount point. is it necessary to set the mount point in the shout.conf & icecast.conf file? Is so, please give me some example or reference in how to create the mount point. For your information, i'm using icecast-1.3.7 and shout-0.8 server on slackware linux. any help is much-much appreciated..... -regards asmadi <p>_________________________________________________________________ Inflex - install di dalam email server bagi domain @kustem.edu.my Sebarang Pertanyaan: postmaster@kustem.edu.my --- >8 ---- List archives: http://www.xiph.org/archives/ icecast project homepage: http://www.icecast.org/ To unsubscribe from this list, send a message to 'icecast-request@xiph.org' containing only the word 'unsubscribe' in the body. i am no expert, but i believe that the mount points are controlled by the streaming client (in your case shout). When the client attaches to the server, it creates the mount point on the server. I am using ices 2 (instead of shout), and in my ices.conf file (or on the command line), I specify the mount point. In my case, I have 2 shell scripts that I run at bootup that create 2 mount points, one is a 192k stream (mount point ices192 specified on the command line i.e. ices -m ices192 -all the other options) for my lan, and another 56k stream (mount point ices56) which is accessible by internet users. I hope this helps clear things up. brett> hello...everybody... > > i have a question about mount point ... > > if i want to separate the streaming by category, let say i want to play > an english category song. > Then what should i do is just go to http://putera-trg.kustem/english and > the song plays. > if i want to play rock category songs, then just go to > http://putera-trg.kustem/rock and the > songs play. > > This is about a mount point but i still not understand how to create the > mount point. > is it necessary to set the mount point in the shout.conf & icecast.conf > file?
