Hi, Two questions: I wondered if there's a solution for an icecast 1.3.11 server to automatically play a static stream by default (a welcome message announcing future streams) whenever someone connects to / without needing any source. The solution I use is to launch shout as a source and make it loop over this welcome message, but I find this not optimal because most of the time there's no listener. Is there anything better, maybe with aliases ? Is there a way to verify the quality of the transmission or benchmark it without having to listen to the stream and optionnally produce a graph showing transmission errors: ideally I'd want to simulate a number of simultaneous listeners. I've tried with ab but is it really the same as listeners like mpg123 or winamp ? I have to be sure that a certain number of clients can listen from another point in our wan. I wanted to search the mailing list archive but this doesn't seem to work. thanks in advance for any help.
