Hi: OK, all those who think icecast and vorbis etc are a cool thing, if you've not yet gone up to linuxfund.org to vote for xiph.org, then today is the last day that you can do so. Xiph is leading by a decent margin but we want to be sure that they get the money, right? So lets give all the available pesos to this project so that they can get the money. (In fact, I'm the person made Xiph break 90k.) I'm not sure why they have a 1500 peso per person per project limit; I suppose they want people to do more than just sign up, give everything to their favorite, and then leave, which is more or less what I had had in mind. Quote: The Xiph.org projects include Ogg (which is the parent of Vorbis and Tarkin) and and Icecast. Our current focus, is Ogg Vorbis 1.0 and related tools and documentation, and Icecast 2.0 with Ogg Vorbis support. The Ogg Project The Ogg Project seeks to define a generic bitstream format and multimedia codecs that are unencumbered by intellectual property restriction and are technologically superior to current proprietary alternatives. It seems HTML formatting is missing from this description. And in the first line "and and" is wrong. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Geoff Shang" <gshang@uq.net.au> To: <vorbis@xiph.org>; <icecast@xiph.org> Sent: Saturday, June 30, 2001 4:36 PM Subject: [vorbis] xiph.org on Linuxfund> Hi: > > OK, all those who think icecast and vorbis etc are a cool thing, if you've > not yet gone up to linuxfund.org to vote for xiph.org, then today is the > last day that you can do so.
