Icecast dev - Jul 2013 - IceCast Android MediaPlayer support

Hello.
What is the official info about IceCast Android MediaPlayer support?

Android MediaPlayer works properly with Icecast streams but especially
older APIs don't support extracting metadata. I have a solution for this so

In http://developer.android.com/about/versions/android-2.2-highlights.html-
there is a support for HTTP progressive streaming. Does this mean that
IceCast is only Android-ready from 2.2?
I've tried some hours ago on Android 2.1 tablet and the app crashes at
start (couldn't find the reason yet). The same app works in 2.3.5.
Thanks, I can extract tags by IcyStreamMeta class.
Is there a list of possible 404 error reasons in the middle of play? I am
using WireShark for monitoring packets. For example, I get error
"Destination unreachable (no route to destination)"
