...app works in 2.3.5. Thanks, I can extract tags by IcyStreamMeta class. Is there a list of possible 404 error reasons in the middle of play? I am using WireShark for monitoring packets. For example, I get error "Destination unreachable (no route to destination)" K.S. 2013/7/24 marcin at saepia.net <marcin at saepia.net> > Android MediaPlayer works properly with Icecast streams but especially > older APIs don't support extracting metadata. Streaming AAC with libshout?
Hi, I am wondering how to add AAC support to GStreamer's shout2send element. Support for this format seems to be enabled in icecast for a while and it would be nice if one of the major open source frameworks would have been capable of streaming such content. GStreamer's shout2send relies on the libshout library but it defines only two formats - MP3 and Vorbis. There is no single word in

It is possible to ask the development team of icecast to implement a solution for that? Something like – "if the same IP pulling the stream over X instances for X time" to kick him? Hi Greg, thank you for recommendation but my question is related to a different topic. I would rather say that Orban should finally notice that selling standalone windows app is not a solution for everyone as it does not integrate well with SaaS solutions. m. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... Thomas, it is a bit ridiculous, to be honest. If whole open source community have been thinking like this none of the linux distros would have ever had any multimedia player that is usable by regular user because all of the would have been supporting only Vorbis and Theora. For me, one of the best things in open source is its interoperability, not that it is a ghetto. And you won't reverse

I didn't pick up the data from the access file, just from the error file... About players, I can't control what the "radio index" sites are doing with my icecast streaming address, But as far as I know from my experience, the players when they getting "crazy" causing between 3-5 multiple connections for less than a 2 minutes. Not a big issue. The situation that

Android Java source for icecast streaming
Greetings, tl;dr - I'm looking for sources to an Android Icecast client written in Java. long summary: I maintain an open source Android app (WREK Online) that plays the live mp3 stream from the station's Icecast server. Using the built in MediaPlayer class that is part of the Android SDK works OK. As a developer, I just give it the streaming URL of the Icecast server, hook up a few

Icecast eating 100% CPU
Hello, I am using the most recent stable icecast (2.4.3) with the following config: https://gist.github.com/mspanc/5e560e8fbd07bf65bc30a288cb514c14 From time to time, CPU usage hits 100% and keeps on that level once it’s hit. According to htop, only 20-25% is a regular usage (green bar on htop), rest are kernel threads (red bar on htop).   Am I doing some relaying and fallbacks as you can see

If you don't want to modify sources of icecast which is non trivial I would have recommended writing a script that fetches list of clients periodically over icecast admin API and kills these that utilize too many connections. If they would have keep reconnecting you should implement more advanced solution - with total blocking on firewall or within icecast. If you need further support,

It all looks like a workarounds. I would suggest using a proper solution, such as systemd, that is present in ubuntu 16.04 by default, and where you can raise system limits per system service just by tweaking its config file. m.
