[Gluster-users] Configuration on the command line and (serious) locking problems
Hi! Configuration: It seems, that configuring glusterfs with configuration files is not supported anymore with version 3.2.x. Is that true? What kind of "RPC programm" does glusterfs use and why is it necessary to call an external application? Do you want to force users to use the command line? Will direct configuration with files be supported in future versions? I would really appreciate that. :-) Locking: I tried to create a replication cluster manually for two nodes, but failed to setup locking successfully. Is locking still an issue with glusterfs? Have you ever done tests for locking? I wrote a very simple bash script to test locking with flock. As soon as I start this script on one node in the glusterfs mount, reading the file this script writes on the other node in the glusterfs mount blocks both nodes. I need to restart one of them. I consider this a serious problem. glusterfsd.vol: http://pastebin.com/f4NtamPp glusterfs.vol: http://pastebin.com/ZYzNb4A7 flock.bash: http://pastebin.com/MzX0F2Ea Thanks Bj?rn
