Going back through old messages I saw Mark's comment about meeting resistance to FLAC because of lack of a GUI. Yes, there is the FLAC frontend mentioned on the home page, but maybe that is not enough. Well, since there's no way I'm ever going to write a windows GUI, I thought, why not trick another one into using FLAC? So my first effort is the Monkey's Audio GUI which people seem to like. I just checked in the source for a little utility that can be copied in to the MA install area that can pretend to be one of the other lossless encoders, but actually call flac. It works pretty well so I think it will be in the next release also. Mark, if you're curious you can check out the latest documentation in CVS about it: http://cvs.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/~checkout~/flac/flac/doc/documentation.html?rev=1.42&content-type=text/html Maybe that will sway your friends!
