viewcvs interface
I've added a web interface to the cvs repository (viewcvs). I find this is pretty handy for
tracking changes or pointing people at files for reference. Just follow the browse link at
the top of the main cvs page:
http://www.xiph.org/cvs.html
We used to have an (undocumented, I think) cvsweb interface, but it looks like it didn't make
it to t...

I've pulled the plug on viewcvs
While trying to get other work done on Motherfish-II, I couldn't help
but notice that machine load was over *200*, due entirely to the
viewCVS CGI. Either we were being DoSed via the cgi, or it's too
inefficient to even think about using.
Motherfish is a server intended for *core services only*. We've been
steadily forgetting that. Core services include CVS, mail and web.
They include precious little else (I'm on the fence...

Sourceforge CVS
The Shorewall CVS repository is now safely ensconced at Sourceforge.
http://sourceforge.net/cvs/?group_id=22587
Please note that unlike with the old repository here at shorewall.net,
at Sourceforge there is a delay in updating the ViewCVS (web) copy of
the repository. As a consequence, developer commits are not immediately
available for browsing with ViewCVS
(http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/shorewall/).

How can you see these in viewcv?

They should be "seen" in the certain revision, before they were deleted.

security bugs (?)
As a Cygwin rsync package maintainer, the following security fixes have
been brought to my attention:
http://sources.gentoo.org/viewcvs.py/gentoo-x86/net-misc/rsync/files/rsync-2.6.9-stats-fix.patch
http://sources.gentoo.org/viewcvs.py/gentoo-x86/net-misc/rsync/files/rsync-2.6.9-fname-obo.patch
And while they seem "trusted" enough to me (present in many packages
such as Gentoo, FreeBSD and other; in bug lists such as Sec...

How to use ZFS volume
Hi,
I want to use Samba with ZFS volume, although I know 3.0.25c dose not
work with ZFS volume.
And I found modules/vfs_zfsacl.c on Samba-3.0.26.
(
http://viewcvs.samba.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/branches/SAMBA_3_0_26/source/modules/
)
But I can't find samba-3.0.26.tar.gz on samba.org.
So, I have two question.
1. It is possible to download samba-3.0.26.tar.gz (or something another
which can use with ZFS volume) ?
2. Or, Is there any schedule of release day...

adding things dynamically
Another question:
If I have a panel that contains a sizer that contains, for example,
some number of gauges, and I want to add another gauge on-the-fly, can
I do that?
Every time I try modifying things at run-time, it just messes everything up.

URGENT problem in production enviroment 3.0.23c-1
Inn the error:
Cannot read or set the permissions for file \\server\share\folder:
initializing the SD failed
Does SD stand for Security Descriptor?
I have a server that doesn't want to make new folders without giving
this error. This only applies to folders!! Files don't give this
message.
I downgraded from 3.0.23c-1 to 3.0.21b-1 but that didn't solve it. It
did solve the

No. It pessimizes correctly behaving code to work around code that
violates the ELF ABI. Consider an application that loads plugins with
RTLD_LOCAL. Two plugins implement a (hidden) type called "Plugin"....

I'm not sure exactly what happened. What you have in CVS:
<http://cvs.sourceforge.net/viewcvs.py/flac/flac/src/libFLAC/ppc/gas/lpc_asm.s?rev=1.1&view=log>
is not the same as the patch applied by Gentoo:
<http://www.gentoo.org/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/media-libs/flac/files/flac-1.1.1-altivec.patch.gz>
There is little difference between either version except for the comment

[LLVMdev] Question about Constant Expressions
How hard would it be to compile this pass and add it to the passes
that opt can run? Is this something I should be able to do relatively
quickly? What was the name of the file(s) that implemented the pass?
Thanks,
Ben

Subversion?
I've been wondering if we should consider migrating from CVS to
Subversion (aka SVN) for version control. There's a utility (cvs2svn)
to convert a CVS repository while keeping full history. And SVN is
supported by viewcvs (as used by http://cvs.xapian.org/)
The main motivations are:
* CVS doesn't really handle renaming files well. Either you "cvs rm"
then "cvs add" and have to manually step between files when diffing
back past the rename. Or you copy the raw ,v file (ick) and "cv...

libFLAC docs
For those of you using CVS, I have added a libFLAC section to the
documentation page. I'm not sure how detailed to make it but I
think it's a good start. Let me know if there's anything else
you'd like to have in there.
http://cvs.sourceforge.net/cgi-bin/viewcvs.cgi/~checkout~/flac/flac/doc/documentation.html?rev=HEAD
Also, I'm thinking about splitting the encoder into stream
and file encoders like the decoders are, so the encoder
interface might change slightly. This will be pretty minor
and I'll make sure to do it before 1.0.

compiz 0.3.6 in fedora rawhide
Hi,
I've just updated compiz in fedora rawhide and wanted to post a quick
overview of the patches we still carry. Patch details are available
here:
http://cvs.fedora.redhat.com/viewcvs/rpms/compiz/devel
terminate-move.patch
restart.patch
These are already upstream, but not yet in a released version.
aiglx-defaults.patch
tfp-server-extension.patch
These two paper over a problem in libGL by defaulting to indirect
rendering and looking for tfp in the server extensions string...
