Hello all-- It seems using ctrl-alt-F1 to exit from GUI back to MY OWN SESSION'S command line does not work for me. It does nothing. Is this something that needs to be explicitly enabled? I start GUI using "startx". Also, any info on what to use to get BACK to my X11 session. Discussions seem confusing on this point. Thanks for any help. -- "And in the end, only kindness matters." -- Jewel, "Hands" ______ Kay Schenk

Your other virtual consoles (2..8) are still there in text mode and you cat move to them using the normal key combinations. When you exit your X11 session, console 1 will return to text mode. -- jmt
