on 6 the command: gconftool-2 -t bool --list-type bool --set /apps/gnome_settings_daemon/screensaver/start_screensaver false would stop the screen saver. What is it on 7. The above seems to do nothing. Also The gnome-panel process was running in 6 - it does not seem to be run in 7. How do I hide/remove the top and bottom panel? The "hide" in gconftool-2 for top and bottom done seem to do anything either. What might I be missing? Thanks, Jerry
