CentOS - Jan 2011 - thumbnail cache

This webpage tells me that you can set the thumbnail cache size using
gconf-editor:

However, the gconf-editor that I have on Centos 5.5 doesn't have that
setting.

Is it not possible to set this value with Centos 5.5?
