CentOS - Jan 2008 - Slightly OT: Creative Zen not showing up when plugged in - what to do

I installed the 0.2.5 version of libmtp, ran the hotplug.sh script
(which has a bug in it, but it's only for "old" hotplug support),
the
player shows up in lsusb, BUT gnomad2 can't seem to find it.

What am I missing?
