CentOS - Sep 2004 - kernel update

an updated kernel was released in U#..however when i did yum 
update it did not grab the actual kernel only kernel utils..What 
do i need to do to make yum grab the kernel as well during the 
update process?

My kernel was grabbed by the installer and properly 
isntalled..what threw me was tht only kernel utils was mentioned 
during the header download..:)
