Camping list - Oct 2006 - @helpers no longer required?

After updating to the latest version of Markaby, I''ve
noticed that @helpers doesn''t seem to be necessary
when accessing params, flash, etc. and named routes
(*_url) in Rails. Is and will @helpers no longer be
necessary? (And if so, let me be the first to say
YAY!)
