I am having problems with my zaptel channels on my fresh install of Asterisk
1.4.2 on Fedora core 6.
I have a new Digium TDM400P with 2 FXO modules.
Both dmesg and ztcfg -vvv show the FXO modules loading correctly:
---------------------
Zaptel Version: 1.4.1
Echo Canceller: MG2
Configuration
=====================Channel map:
Channel 03: FXS Loopstart (Default) (Slaves: 03)
Channel 04: FXS Loopstart (Default) (Slaves: 04)
2 channels configured.
----------------------
If I manually run the following commands:
modprobe zaptel
modprobe wctdm
ztcfg -vvv
asterisk -vvvc
Then SOMETIMES asterisk will work perfectly with the zap channels, allowing both
incoming and outgoing calls as per my dialplan.
However sometimes the above method appears to work fine, and the zaptel channels
appear in asterisk, but any incoming calls dont show anything in the asterisk
console, and any outgoing calls say they are connected to the zap channel, but
the actual line is never taken off hook. There are no error messages,
everything appears to be fine.
I have tried delays of at least one minute between loading zaptel and wctdm and
asterisk, all with the same hit-and-miss results.
This is the result of the zap show channels command:
----------------
Chan Extension Context Language MOH Interpret
pseudo incoming82 default
3 incoming92 default
4 incoming82 default
----------------
And these are the messages I get when trying to make an outgoing call via the
zap channel:
----------------
-- Executing [9094388699@internal:1] Set("SIP/501-082e6b38",
"CDR(accountcode)=TollCall") in new stack
-- Executing [9094388699@internal:2] Dial("SIP/501-082e6b38",
"Zap/3/094388699") in new stack
-- Called 3/094388699
-- Hungup 'Zap/3-1'
----------------
I only hungup after waiting about 2 minutes for the call to connect, but it
never gave any indication of connecting.
Does anyone have any ideas what I am doing wrong? Perhaps I have a faulty
TDM400P card (it is brand new)? I have spent 3 days now searching Google and
experimenting, but am starting to tear my hair out!
