Has anyone got this annoying sidecar to illuminate when users are on the phone? In my function key settings I have: Context: Active Type: Extension Number: <sip:4000@serve.address.com;user=phone> (4000 is the extension I want to see/dial on the key). I can press the key and it will dial the extension, it just won't illuminate when the user is on the phone or on DND Since I have multiple lines on this one particular 360, I even tried: Context: 4001@server.address.com;user=phone> (4000 is the line I assigned to my phone) Type: Extension Number: <sip:4000@serve.address.com;user=phone> Same. 4001 will ring if I hit the function key, but nothing is illuminated. I've tried Context: Line, still no dice. In extensions.conf I have: exten => 4000,hint,SIP/4000,name Using Asterisk 1.2.13 on FC5, Snom: Phone Type: snom360-SIP Kernel Version: snom360 linux 3.25 Application-Version: snom360-SIP 6.5.2 Rootfs-Version: snom360 jffs2 v3.36 -- ===================================================J. you are asking about Shared line apperance or hints. Look at this voip-info.org/wiki/view/snom+360 On 1/9/07, J. I am siting in a building with 30 Snom 360s and 25 sidecars, I can assure you that it can work. Check you Snom Firmware, settings on the extra lines (you set them as shared). I should update the wiki someday, been a while... On 1/9/07, J. Oquendo <sil@infiltrated.net> wrote:> Dr. Michael J. Chudobiak wrote: > > J. Hi, On 1/9/07, J. Oquendo <sil@infiltrated.net> wrote:> Has anyone got this annoying sidecar to illuminate when users are on the > phone? >Yup, works fine.> I've tried Context: Line, still no dice. I have an Asterisk server running REL 4 with two NICs. One NIC has a 192.168.1.x IP address and is connected to a POE switch with Polycom phones that have 192.168.1.x IP addresses. The other NIC has a 172.17.x.x IP address connected to a router. The router is connected to the Internet. If the Internet goes down or the cable between the 172.17.x.x. NIC is disconnected, the phones start to lose their connection to asterisk. Why? What have I screwed up? Thanks, Brian -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... A few questions for you: Where is your DNS Server for your LAN located by using the 172.17.x.x address I suppose there is more to your network than two segments, (Asterisk may drop connections if it has a problem with DNS) How are your Polycom phones configured? Are they using a ftp/tftp server to get the configs, or are they configured one by one via the web interface? (Once again loosing DNS service if you are using hostnames on the phone configs would cause the phone not to be able to reach the * server) ________________________________ From: asterisk-users-bounces at lists.digium.com [mailto:asterisk-users-bounces at lists.digium.com] On Behalf Of Brian M.
