Paul,
1.) These questions are specific to Asterisk@Home, not asterisk, and
you probably ought to post your question to the forum at
asteriskathome.sourceforge.net (especially since A@H has specific
Cisco config options.)
2.) These questions have been answered before, look at the A@H
handbook and the voip-info wiki for more info on this.
3.) You are thinking of TFTP for the phones to DL their config info,
not VSFTPD, which is a regular FTP server. Again, check the A@H
handbook for info on the Cisco phones, A@H makes it extremely easy to
set up the Cisco phones to work with Asterisk.
4.) You should be able to configure the Polycom phones with a web
browser if you want to. It's easier for one phone, but harder if you
plan on having many.
5.) For Outlook integration, check the wiki, I think you are looking
for ast-gui.
6.) For the panel, again, check the A@H handbook, voip-info.org, and
Google is your friend. Look for the answers yourself before you ask
us to find them for you.
7.) There are many people who use Polycom phones with Asterisk. I
know of no problems with them, but I only have one IP301, and I don't
use it much since I got my Cisco unit.
HTH,
Tom
