Nearly any combination of characters can be used as an extension and should be accessible as long as you call it from somewhere in your dialplan. The 's' & 'n' priorities were most definitely added after the current stable branch split from CVS-HEAD. To use them you must download the source from CVS. There is a fairly nice walk-through of the basic dialplan setup on the wiki.
