Greetings all, My next step is to purchase a nice VoIP phone for my desk. I have a grandstream, and the sound is great, but I'm looking for more of an office style phone, preferably that can handle multiple lines, has a more flexible display (i.e. name as well as number). SIP would be preferable. Any suggestions? Thanks, Eric
Check out Cisco's line up. Very clean and clear with very high quality. Start around 300 I believe which isn't too bad considering traditional PBX phones cost. .o-------------------------------------------------------o. Brian Fertig Network Engineer Planet Telecom, Inc. Those of us who don't have or want MIME decoding as part of our normal mail-reading toolchain get what you see above. There's no need to encode text as base64 anyways, since the base64 encoding actually increases the size of the message for no appreciable gain. This is why it's generally considered polite to avoid MIME on mailing lists, and if you absolutely positively must have MIME, then at least post an unencoded plaintext version of your message along with it. Depends on your budget. A Polycom IP500 or IP600 perhaps? I recommend Polycom phones. Not sure. The port is a standard RJ port just like the one for the handset. The combo I was looking at was a Plantronics. I have looked at the list archives and on google, but i havent seem much about compiling asterisk cvs on a Xserve G5? Are there any groups out there experimenting with this? I realize there are no drivers to the ZapTel cards, but for my purposes IAX, H323, and SIP only connections will be fine. David Winter Senior Network Engineer Planet-Telecom, Inc.
