asterisk users - Sep 2004 - Prepaid function with MySQL

Hi,

To prefent call fraud, and enable people to "buy" sertain amount of
phone-time.
Does anyone have experience setting up prepaid accunts with mysql.

Goal;
Create accounts with login /password, and 1000 sec of call time (i.e. $5)
(don't mind the pricing yet :)

People login with number and password(number), then voice tells them how much
call time is left.
Then wait (1)
Then you can call where ever you want which start with 08, 0046... 
Also there should be a check every 3 minutes, that controlls the users amount of
money left..

Anyone have comments on this ?

checking every 3 mins would possibly mean they could go over by 2 mins
or so from there balance. The idea is interesting but if you bill per
min I'd checked it as such vs 3 mins since you leave a gap of time
unchecked. The other option is if account has less than 3 mins at time
of check you drop the call there instead of letting it go for another
3 where it would be in neg.
