[Asterisk-Users] chan_capi, Eicon Diva server BRI, kernel 2.6?
Hi list, Does chan_capi work with kernel 2.6? The Eicon Diva server card loads fine judging from /var/log/messages but Asterisk gives an error when trying to load the chan_capi module. I'm using chan_capi-0.3.5, zaptel-1.0.0, libpri-1.0.0 and asterisk-1.0.0 on a Fedora box with kernel 2.6.8-1.584. Zaptel and ilbpri work fine as does *. I have seen a msg that may be related and don't know if this fix is included in Red Hat's 584 kernel: http://listserv.isdn4linux.de/pipermail/i4ldeveloper/2004-August/000630.html Here are the kernel options compiled in: # # Active cards # CONFIG_ISDN_DRV_ICN=m CONFIG_ISDN_DRV_PCBIT=m CONFIG_ISDN_DRV_SC=m CONFIG_ISDN_DRV_ACT2000=m CONFIG_ISDN_DRV_TPAM=m CONFIG_HYSDN=m CONFIG_HYSDN_CAPI=y # # CAPI subsystem # CONFIG_ISDN_CAPI=m CONFIG_ISDN_DRV_AVMB1_VERBOSE_REASON=y CONFIG_ISDN_CAPI_MIDDLEWARE=y CONFIG_ISDN_CAPI_CAPI20=m CONFIG_ISDN_CAPI_CAPIFS_BOOL=y CONFIG_ISDN_CAPI_CAPIFS=m CONFIG_ISDN_CAPI_CAPIDRV=m # # CAPI hardware drivers # # # Active AVM cards # CONFIG_CAPI_AVM=y CONFIG_ISDN_DRV_AVMB1_B1ISA=m CONFIG_ISDN_DRV_AVMB1_B1PCI=m CONFIG_ISDN_DRV_AVMB1_B1PCIV4=y CONFIG_ISDN_DRV_AVMB1_T1ISA=m CONFIG_ISDN_DRV_AVMB1_B1PCMCIA=m CONFIG_ISDN_DRV_AVMB1_AVM_CS=m CONFIG_ISDN_DRV_AVMB1_T1PCI=m CONFIG_ISDN_DRV_AVMB1_C4=m # # Active Eicon DIVA Server cards # CONFIG_CAPI_EICON=y CONFIG_ISDN_DIVAS=m CONFIG_ISDN_DIVAS_BRIPCI=y CONFIG_ISDN_DIVAS_PRIPCI=y CONFIG_ISDN_DIVAS_DIVACAPI=m CONFIG_ISDN_DIVAS_USERIDI=m CONFIG_ISDN_DIVAS_MAINT=m Output from /var/log/messages: Sep 26 01:51:04 voice kernel: kcapi: Controller 1: Diva Server BRI-2M PCI attached Sep 26 01:51:05 voice kernel: kcapi: card 1 "Diva Server BRI-2M PCI" ready. There are some other capi related changes in kernel >= 2.6.9-rc1-bk4. http://www.melware.de has some information and drivers for Eicon Diva server BRI pci. -- Stefan Tichy <asterisk@pi4tel.de>

I checked the 584 kernel and it already contains the melware patches from that link. Guess the culprit is fixed in those commits found in 2.6.9-rc1-bk4. I can not find them. Do you know where I can find which capi/eicon related patches were committed to 2.6.9-rc1-bk4? Thanks and regards, Patrick

Hi Patrick, is it an option for you to use 2.6.9-rc2 ? In particular the "low-level drivers skb free fix" is listed in the changelog. isdn4linux mailing list is probably an adequate discussion forum for theese questions. English is used for some threads on this list, german for others. -- Stefan Tichy <asterisk@pi4tel.de>
