Hi All, Since 21 june skype is available to be used on Linux, with a static binary, which includes QT, of 8 meg its big. http://www.skype.com/help_linux_faq.html I presume, with some hacking, there could be a possibility to use the Skype program as a Channel. (Eq. Skype is started, and with a visual scripting thing a connection is made and Asterisk connects via OSS (or the alsa emulation layer)). It is a bit of work, but reverse enginering is too :) Stefan

Besides that it's going to be very limited, what you can use something like that for. It's after all only their softphone, that works with it. Nothing else. Kind regards, Martin List-Petersen

On a virtually inactive DSL to Cable connection the sound quality was HORRID! On the same topic, the SDK for the Siemens cordless USB phone that runs Skype was released to developers this week (I'm in Australia so I don't have it yet) but would be interesting to see if someone can make these M34 handsets work with asterisk. It's probably best to just let them die gracefully, rather than helping them to integrate with more standard protocols. If they want to integrate then it's up to them to provide a (sk)hype<->SIP gateway. -- _/ _/ _/_/_/_/ _/ _/ _/_/_/ _/ _/ _/_/_/ _/_/ _/ _/ _/ _/_/ _/ K e v i n W a l s h _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/ _/_/ kevin@cursor.biz _/ _/ _/_/_/_/ _/ _/_/_/ _/ _/
