[Asterisk-Users] Anyone using Asterisks and a Quicknet Lineja ck in the UK?
I don't have any experience of your problem - but I thought this might help. http://www.hut.fi/Misc/Electronics/circuits/uk_wiring.html <http://www.hut.fi/Misc/Electronics/circuits/uk_wiring.html> The UK (and some of it's former colonies) use a system called 3-wire ringing. Some equipment from overseas requires an adaptor to make it work. I don't know if the LineJack is one of these. -----Original Message----- From: Colin Gorrie [mailto:colin_gorrie@hotmail.com] Sent: 24 April 2003 12:01 To: asterisk-users@lists.digium.com Subject: [Asterisk-Users] Anyone using Asterisks and a Quicknet Linejack in the UK? Hi Folks, I'm having difficulty implementing Asterisks with a LineJack card here in the UK. I wonder if there are any members of this list that have successfuly managed to get incoming PSTN call detection with a Linejack card and Asterisks here in the UK, and if so, if they would be willing to give me some advice/some things to try. Basically, I cannot get Asterisks to detect an incoming call from the PSTN, although strangely, if I first run the Quicknet SDK utility "ring_detect" with the correct cadence setting, I can get the card to detect an incoming ring. If I then quit the ring_detect utility and immediately start Asterisks, I can then get Asterisks to detect a ring. Without running the ring_detect utlility first, Atserisks will not detect the incoming call at all. I'm running a RedHat 8.0 box with the latest versions of the quicknet drivers (from the openh323 CVS repository). Many thanks in advance! Colin Any help would be very, very welcome. _____ Add photos to your e-mail with MSN <http://g.msn.com/8HMFENUS/2746> 8. [Asterisk-Users] Anyone using Asterisks and a Quicknet Lineja ck in the UK?
Hello, I've read your mail , and I've wondered if you might could help me. I'm using SIPRG as a gateway between PSTN and IP, and I'm using a LinePhone Quicknet card too. The problem is that I don't like the SIPRG, it has some bugs and the quality of the audio sometimes is very bad, I don't know why. I was wondering if I could use Asterisk, but after compiling it I get lost with the configuration steps, I don't know what I must configure to make the gateway work in my system (I'm using VOCAL as my SIP based system). Could you help me ? Would you mind explaining to me briefly what are the steps I should take to make Asterisk work and to be able to make PSTN -> IP calls and IP -> PSTN calls ? Thank you very much. But apart from that I believe I've read on the list that the Linejack card can only be used as an FXS with *, not as an FXO. Steve
