Hi all, I am a newbie. I downloaded Asterisk tarball asterisk-0.4.0.tar.gz. When I did make, make install and make samples I thought everything went alright. With no modification to the conf files I tried to register from a Netmeeting 4.6 client.I got the warning Cannot find extension context 'default'. After studying the documentation and conf files I saw that the default context was defined in extensions.conf and included a demo context. I noticed in the verbose log that extensions.conf was not parsed. When I even deleted extensions.conf I got no warnings or errors starting asterisk with ./asterisk -vvvc. I know you can include conf files in others, but should not extensions.conf be parsed by default. Who is willing to give me a clue. Thanks in advance Jan. -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed... URL: http://lists.digium.com/pipermail/asterisk-users/attachments/20030521/5d498ec7/attachment.htm
You should also check to make sure that you have not accidentally uncommented any text which should be commented at the beginning of the file. That has caused a similar problem for me at one time. -----Original Message----- From: asterisk-users-admin@lists.digium.com [mailto:asterisk-users-admin@lists.digium.com] On Behalf Of Jan Boon Sent: Wednesday, May 21, 2003 3:41 PM To: asterisk-users@lists.digium.com Subject: Re: [Asterisk-Users] Extensions.conf Yes, I am looking at extensions.conf in /etc/asterisk/ directory. Hi John, Unfortunately not. Also asterisk -vvvc does not give me a console in a KDE terminal-session. When I start "asterisk -vvv" in one KDE-terminal-session and "asterisk -r" in another I get a console in this second session. When I give the command "show dialplan" I only get the extensions of parkedcalls as defined in /etc/asterisk/parking.conf. I see this file being parsed in the verbose output in the first session (as sip.conf and many others excluding extensions.conf). I do not think typing errors are the problem because I get the same result with extensions.conf as generated in "make samples" and I presume this is errorfree and one very short version of my own without any comments (; or #). Hey guys, Is there a way to make asterisk return the calling point after the last command is completed in a context? The goto statement doesn't seem to work as I expected it too. For Example: [iax-demo] exten => s,1,Playback(demo-abouttotry) exten => s,2,Dial(IAX2/guest@misery.digium.com/s@default) exten => s,3,Playback(demo-nogo) [some-menu] exten => s,1,Playback(Some-file) exten => s,2,Playback(another-file) exten => s,3,Playback(another-file) exten => s,4,WaitExten(4) exten => s,5,Queue(some-queue) exten => 300,1,Goto(iax-demo,s,1) exten => 300,2,goto(s,3) [some-other-menu] exten => s,1,Playback(Some-different-file) exten => s,2,Playback(some-other-file) exten => s,3,WaitExten(4) exten => s,4,Queue(different-queue) exten => 300,1,Goto(iax-demo,s,1) exten => 300,2,Goto(s,1) You see, I want the iax-demo in both contexts, but after the demos done, I want the caller to be returned to the context, but where depends on the calling context. Any help ? Thank you, Steve
Good day all I have my extensions sorted out nice but I need some help with more advance config. In short myne looks like this [company1] exten => s,1......... plays the message, saying 1 for sales 2 for accounts ens . . . exten => 1,1,Dial(SIP/40615) exten => 1,2,Dial(SIP/403,15) exten => 1,3,Voicemail2(u406) exten => 1,4,Hangup ..............ens No what I want it to do is if you press 1 it will dial sip 406 for 15 and 403 for 15s AND then give you a voice that says press 1 for voicemail,2 for mail menu and 3 to ring again? Can someone please help ? Thanks Altus
Hi Does anyone know how big extensions.conf can be? I am trying to set up Asterisk which will have about 45 000 lines in extensions.conf. Is there any limitation about the amount of lines in that file? No limit in code imposed. Not sure about performance penalty for a file that big, have you considered using ARA (Asterisk Realtime Architecture)? Start Asterisk and see what happens.I will do that first thing in the morning :)>Actually i've done 50,000+ line dialplans using my Asterisk::LCR >dialplan generator, and asterisk has been just fine with it.Sound of relief :) Thanks for help I will let you know about the results.
