Anybody using SCGI in production?
Or does anybody prefer fastcgi/fcgi? I''m using webrick for development, but plan on using scgi when I switch to production (because it appears to be an update to fastcgi, and I couldn''t get fastcgi working anyhow). thanks csn __________________________________ Yahoo! matrix help (first occurrence of variable in column)
...want to count the number of new species that occur at a given time sample. For the matrix above the answer would be 1. Kruskal's MDS results
Dear List, I'm trying to interpret the results of the Kruskal's Non-metric Multidimensional Scaling algorithm (isoMDS, MASS package). The 'goodness of fit' is reported as "The final stress achieved (in percent)". What does this mean exactly? I've tried to google for an answer but I've not come up with a definitive answer. bypass_rescue and its inverse
...sing rspec-rails 1.2 and the bypass rescue declaration is wonderful - by default I tend to write controller which raise exceptions (in exceptional circumstances), along with before- filters as guard clauses, so being able to switch off rescue from (which I properly spec separately) is a real boon. Such a boon, in fact, that I immediately shoved it into a global before :each block so that my controller specs would do what I expect by default. However, that makes my speccing of the rescue_from code a little trickier. Is there an easy way to do the inverse: to switch the default Rail...

Xapian .lemony files
...diting queryparser.lemony? I tried that and the make didn't include my change. I applied the same change to queryparser_internal.cc and it worked fine. Is the .lemony file something used internally and I can ignore? Or do I need to run something prior to make to convert the files? Thanks, Mike Boone. http://boonedocks.net/mike

Default value for ASTERISK_VERSION_NUM
I'm looking at version.h installed by Asterisk 1.2.3/4 - and the default value is 000000. I thought the value should be 010200. I know many people have problems compiling chan_bluetooth because of this inconsistency. Anyone has the last word on this?

RHN-like system for CentOS?
...for CentOS3? I'm not interested in the complete management aspect (channels, scheduling remote updates, etc) but merely the ability to see your list of systems and determine which are out of date with XXX packages. If you happen to manage a large-ish number of RHES3 systems, you know what a boon this is. ;) Ideas? Thx, -te -- Troy Engel | Systems Engineer Fluid, Inc | http://www.fluid.com

Tail Call Elimination?
Dear R-programmers, I am trying to program a Newton-Raphson in R (yes, i will try GSL, not right now), and it would be a real boon if R had tail call elimination, so that a recursive program has a guarantee not to fail due to stack overflows, given how slow loops in R are. I did look at the documentation, but could not find a reason for it. Regards, Mohit Dayal Researcher Applied Statistics & Computing Lab ISB [[alterna...

Dell server for asterisk question!
I am planning to buy Dell 2650 server with dual Xeon processors. And I would like to buy two TE410P cards for PCI with 3,3v. This is on Dell site about PCI slots for Dell 2650 server: 3 PCI-X (1x64-bit/133MHz, and 2x64-bit/100MHz) Does that mean I will be able to buy two TE410P cards ? Or I need to buy two TE405P cards ? Thanks for help. bartek
