R help - Nov 2001 - C code

Hello,


I am new  as R user. After reading the manual I did not understand one
thing:

Is it possible to write a stand-alone C-program (e.g. with its own GUI
etc.) using
R functions inside? (via the R.dll in the Windows case)

I understand that it is possible to write C-code to be used inside R,
which
1. do not use R-functions itself (called with .C)
2. do use R-structures inside (called with .Call)

Is this right?
Are there very simple introductionary examples for my case - if this is
possible
at all?

Hi..
         I'm getting initiated to R and i'm getting some dificulties.
         I need to call R programs from Java.
         I know that omegahat is the solution but i don't get understand 
how to put all working.
         I download all the files from The sites, but theres begins my 
questions. Wich one to use?
         I think that i get a final configuration (getting files from 
several .tar) wich don't have error, but one i'm starting to write my
code
i get problems like no REvaluator() class, RInterpretor ()... etc...
         I try to find some doc in the net that could teach me to use R on 
Java but i don't find.
         Is there anyone that could help me? i'm getting frustraded, and i 
need R to my master degree :(
