R help - Mar 1999 - Question about Structure

Hello,
Perhaps I am missing something here about the function structure() (Platfrm etc.
in the end?

> structure(1:2, dim= 2:1)

[2,]    2
> structure(1:3, dim= 3:1)
Error: dim<- length of dims do not match the length of
object

Nope. You're missing something about the ":" operator
> > structure(1:3, dim= 3:1)

1:3 == c(1,2,3)
3:1 == c(3,2,1)

dim=3:1 means you want this as a 3x2x1 array, 6 cells in total, but 3 data.

1x2x3-array...

2:2 = from 2 to 2 step 1 = 2

2-array, four values

1x2x3x4 array, 24 cells, four values.
