Can anybody explain what is happening? I am using RedHat Linux 5.0 with the latest Martyn Plummer RPM's installed, both at home and at the office. At home "survival4" is (still) working OK. At the office all the components ('survfit', 'survdiff', 'coxph, etc..) stop with an error message that they can't 'find' or 'load' the C binaries: i.e. '.C("survfit2",....)'. Immediately after installing everything worked OK , I still have the saved objects to prove it. But I obviously did something wrong and now loading the library 'survival4' does not work as before: the C binaries do not seem to be found or get (dynamically) loaded. By the way does exiting from R with q() 'cleanly' detach the loaded add-on packages or is it advisable to use : detach("package:xxxx"). ------------------------------------------------ Alexander Volovics Dept of Methodology & Statistics Maastricht University, Maastricht, NL email: Alexander Volovics <awol at stat.unimaas.nl> ------------------------------------------------ -.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.-.- r-help mailing list -- Read http://www.ci.tuwien.ac.at/~hornik/R/R-FAQ.html Send "info", "help", or "[un]subscribe" (in the "body", not the subject !)
