Xen users - Nov 2010 - Ubuntu Amazon EC2 kernel in a VM on a CentOS 5.5 Xen host

I am running CentOS 5.5 version of Xen. I want to bring up an Ubuntu HVM
domain that has PV drivers. I do not want to build a custom kernel and was
hoping to use the EC2 kernel that is available in the repos. However, the
EC2 kernel seems to be an ELF 64-bit LSB executable and grub2 is not
recognizing it. Has anyone had success doing this?
