[Xen-users] problem with online storage add - device stuck in state 3 until reboot
Hi all, I''m having trouble online adding storage to my domU''s. running Debian Lenny 2.6.26-2-xen-amd64 xen-utils-3.2-1. After I xm block-attach a new LV device I go into the domU and fdisk -l doesn''t show the new device until after I have rebooted the domU. Here is what I see in the xend.log: [2010-10-28 17:52:06 3789] DEBUG (XendDomainInfo:526) XendDomainInfo.device_create: [''vbd'', [''uname'', ''/dev/rootvg/test-test1''], [''dev'', ''sda6''], [''mode'', ''w'']] [2010-10-28 17:52:06 3789] DEBUG (XendDomainInfo:530) XendDomainInfo.device_create: {''uuid'': ''5749a244-81bf-2735-fa6a-861869e3cf3d'', ''bootable'': 0, ''driver'': ''paravirtualised'', ''dev'': ''sda6'', ''uname'': ''/dev/rootvg/test-test1'', ''mode'': ''w''} [2010-10-28 17:52:06 3789] DEBUG (DevController:118) DevController: writing {''virtual-device'': ''2054'', ''device-type'': ''disk'', ''protocol'': ''x86_64-abi'', ''backend-id'': ''0'', ''state'': ''1'', ''backend'': ''/local/domain/0/backend/vbd/36/2054''} to /local/domain/36/device/vbd/2054. And when I check xm block-list for the device I see it in state 3, which is initialized according to http://wiki.xensource.com/xenwiki/XenStoreReference Vdev BE handle state evt-ch ring-ref BE-path 2054 0 0 3 23 11 /local/domain/0/backend/vbd/42/2054 Can anyone help me figure out why this is and how to fix it so the device is fully connected?
