I think this is usually a spurious error -- I believe what''s happening
is that the slave is attempting to keep a persistent HTTP connection open to the
master. When the system is lightly loaded the master closes inactive persistent
connections after a timeout.
We need to tidy up our debug logging: there''s a lot of noise in there!
