Dear Sir or Madam, i want you to take note of a software developed chiefly by me: The xn-Suite for managing and monitoring open source Xen Dom0 / DomUs. This software is completely free for personal and commercial use. The xn-Suite consists of the following modules: xn-manage - Using this module you are able to start, stop or reboot your vserver and to create or edit it''s Xen DomU configuration. xn-mem - This module is able to dynamically manage the vserver''s memory. You can control the minimum and maximum memory assigned, the xn-mem daemon will dynamically assign the memory required to your vserver. It also provides you with the possiblity to overcommit your physical memory. xn-mon - Collects runtime data and creates statistics of the hardware usage. xn-traff - Network traffic accounting for vservers. xn-web - An web interface for managing modules and users. The software is written in C++ and available as a download for most common Linux distributions. More detailed description including screenshots and can be found here: http://www.xncore.de/node/61 Yours - Michael Schmidt _______________________________________________ Xen-users mailing list Xen-users@lists.xensource.com http://lists.xensource.com/xen-users

At the current release doesnt support xcp. But it is on our roadmap for 2010. All versions from Xen 3.0.0 up to 3.4.2 are supported. The xn-client for DomUs contains the xenstore utils in the version 3.4.2. The domU OS own libxenstore can provides an older version of the xenstore utils. In this case, he cant talk to the xenstore. To avoid this problem, the xn-client comes with his own xenstore-utils / libs in the newest available version (currently 3.4.2). So xn-client and libxenstore(...).deb includes the same files (in different versions) and must be a dependency conflict. The dom0 dont needs the xn-client. He can collect the performance data by the daemon itself. This is not fully implemented yet. But we working on it. Re: [Xen-users] Free XEN / DomU management software
Michael! I have two questions: When I install the xn-suite_0.82-lenny1_i386.deb packate, I see: "Access the xn-web interface at http://<yourserver>/xn-web with username ''admin'' and password ''8nyNzNHslb8g''" Q1: How to change the default random password without accessing the web page? Q2: My dom0 is limited to dom0_mem=640M and my xend-config.sxp will never balloon out (dom0-min-mem 0). So, how to configure the xn-Suite according to my setup? I''m asking this because when I install the xn-suite, I see the message: "Error: memory_dynamic_max must be less than or equal to memory_static_max" So, how to setup the memory related stuff? Tomorrow I will test the system I hope in peace and with electricity! [?] Thanks!
