Even though I am on a bunch of Sun propaganda lists, I have not yet spotted an announcement for Solaris 10U5 even though it is now available for download. Sun''s formal web site is useless for comparing what is in different update releases since its notion of "What''s New" is a comparison with Solaris 9 and Solaris 8, which are as old as dirt and it is not clear if and when this summary gets updated. Can someone please post a summary of any new ZFS features or significant fixes which are in Solaris 10U5? Is there value to upgrading a system to this release over and above what is provided by patches? I can''t guess as to the accuracy or depth, but it is since the last release, not since 9. http://docs.sun.com/app/docs/doc/817-0547/gghpo?l=en&a=view While 8/07 had a large ZFS section, 5/08 doesn''t mention it at all.> Can someone please post a summary of any new ZFS features or > significant fixes which are in Solaris 10U5?I''m guessing it has some changes/fixes applied, but I don''t know of any significant feature changes in U5. There''s a lot that have been targeting U6 for quite a while. -- Darren Dunham ddunham at taos.com Senior Technical Consultant TAOS http://www.taos.com/ Got some Dr Pepper? I would hope at least it has that giant FSYNC patch for ZFS already present? We ran into this issue and it nearly killed Solaris here in our Data Center as a product it was such a bad experience. Fix was in 127728 (x86) and 127729 (Sparc). Well anyhow good to see U5 is out, hadn''t even heard about it so downloading now. This message posted from opensolaris.org

Looking at an S10U5 box I have here, 127728-06 is integrated. -- -Peter Tribble http://www.petertribble.co.uk/ - http://ptribble.blogspot.com/

They''re in the respective patch clusters now, as well as 10u5.
