From the first page of the NEWS file:
(2016-04-29 r70564)

isSymmetrix(m) is much faster for large asymmetric matrices m via pre-tests and
a
new option tol1 (with which strict back compatibility is possible but not the
default).

It probably should be
isSymmetric
