Speex dev - Aug 2004 - Recommendations for Pre-/Post-Processing

Hi,

I just wanted to know if there are any recommendations for
pre-/post-processing (processing power isn't a question).

I'm aiming at 16kHz and tried an lowpass-filter at 11kHz before encoding but
this didn't improve the results...

Well, I don't know if that what you really meant, because at 16 kHz the
Nyquist rate is 8 kHz, so there's no point in filtering at 32 kHz. At 16
kHz, the only thing I'd do is to make sure there's nothing left below 50
Hz and that's about it.
