hi Luis, on the debian buster, after the update, I realized that the
systemd recommends updating the unit files in order to change the path of
the pid files:

Oct 30 06:27:12 fs-share systemd[1]:
/lib/systemd/system/{nmbd,smbd,winbind,rpc-statd}.service:9: PIDFilereferences
path below legacy directory /var/run/, updating /var/run/samba/
{nmbd,smbd,winbind,rpc-statd} .pid ? /run/samba/
{nmbd,smbd,winbind,rpc-statd} .pid; please update the unit file accordingly.

Thanks for the notice, thats done in the 4.11 packages.
I didnt want to change the current 4.9 and 4.10, but, if i dont forget it, 
i'll add this to the next 4.9/4.10 update, its a small change. 

for now just run : 
sed -i 's/\/var\/run/\/run/g'
/lib/systemd/system/{nmbd,smbd,winbind,rpc-statd}.service
systemctl daemon-reload

I switch from Stretch on Buster, and fresh install - for now all work as
expected.
